How to add peptide therapy to your practice: a step-by-step overview

PeptideClinicians editorial team · [MEDICAL/CLINICAL REVIEWER – JOHN TO CONFIRM]

Adding peptide therapy is less about a single protocol and more about building a reliable service line. Most practices work through the same steps.

1. Confirm scope and requirements

Review what your license and state allow for prescribing, telehealth and compounded medications, and check with your malpractice carrier. [JOHN TO REVIEW]

2. Build clinical competence

Get comfortable with the evidence for each peptide you plan to offer, including where it's limited, plus indications, contraindications, dosing, titration and monitoring.

3. Choose pharmacy partners

Evaluate licensure, testing documentation, turnaround and shipping, and how prescriptions are transmitted.

4. Design the patient pathway

Intake, evaluation (live or asynchronous), informed consent, prescription, follow-up cadence and labs. Document each step.

5. Set pricing and operations

Decide on visit fees, program or membership pricing, and how you'll handle refills and messaging. [PRICING GUIDANCE – JOHN TO CONFIRM]

6. Educate patients

Clear, non-promotional education helps patients set realistic expectations and supports better adherence.
